İMECE Band, one of the social cohesion activities of our IMECE Project, which we realized in 2016 with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, took place in Istanbul between 30 November and 3 December. The final night of our event, which was attended by 40 musicians from Turkey, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Azerbaijan, took place on December 3 at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş. At the event, 7 different groups of musicians who did not know each other previously displayed their talent in front of the jury members and the audience with their live performances.
Having organized for the second time this year within the scope of our IMECE Project, which aims to create a common future together by ensuring the participation and contribution of refugees living in Turkey to the economy, in the İMECE Band musicians from different backgrounds and cultures formed groups and composed their own music in a 3-day period. Musicians made a strong impression with their performances in our event where various music genres and styles came together.
